I was so excited to start this blog-- Thank you to my sweet "Kimmie Dawn" for helping me to set it up and get started. We are SO excited to be here in Idaho for the Holiday, but mainly to participate in the Blessing of sweet little Ellie Jane Davis this Saturday January 3, 2009. It has been an interesting ( I will fill in some more details later ) Fall for everyone since she was born on September 19, 2009, and so we are happy to be able to get this important event taken care of for her and her family.
Last night we had everyone put their shoe under the tree and leave it there so that HOBINAE ( the New Year Man) could come and visit. It has been a tradition in my family since I was a little girl. I am not sure of the spelling for his name, but it is Scandinavian in its source and as I have Samuelsons, Frandsens, Hansens, Petersons, etc. as relatives we celebrated it every year. He usually leaves some, fruit, nuts, candy, or small presents as tokens to celebrate with.
This is McKayla, Carter, and Bree coming to see what he left for them. I was happy to see their response to this new way of welcoming in a New Year.
